I remember when I first saw designer Miles Redd's front door in a magazine.  I immediately tore out the page and promised myself that I would one day have a fantastic door just like it.  What makes it such a stunner is the location and style of the door hardware.  It is one of the most talked about doors on the internet since 2008, which just says that good style is timeless.

When making decisions about your own front door, look at doors that really excite you and determine how you can replicate the look.  There are key things that make the Miles Redd door exciting.

Moulding

Try finding the right moulding for your door.  In the case of the features door.  The moulding frames the nickel hardware and makes it really shine.

Hardware

We don't have access or the money of million dollar designers, but we can make sound choices for our own homes.

If you just covet the hardware, go to custom door jewelers (see Resources below).  Keep in mind that any jeweler worth their salt is going to exact a high price.  And be honest with yourself, to have such beautiful, statement jewelry on your front door is an investment. And with customization, comes personalization.

I particularly love the centered door knob.  Do remember that such an installation requires special hardware.
